Dr Jack Gaffey

The best part of my profession is transforming patients’ smiles. When I see that look of amazement on someone’s face as they realise they can smile confidently in public without holding their hand over their mouth, it really lights me up inside. This happens every day, but it is always so rewarding to see that lift in self- esteem. Some of my patients really spend a long time looking at everything in the mirror, trying to work out how the magic was done. It really does feel that I am a magician some days when you get to that big reveal and deliver that straight white smile. The funny thing is that these transformations are just part of the job, to excel at providing high quality dentistry. I am in a position of trust, someone has put their smile in my hands and believes in the skills I can provide to get the best results.
International Triathlete
I compete locally in Adelaide and completed the 70.3 triathlon in Geelong in 2010 and completed in China 3 times! I’ve run the Australian Iron Man in Port Macquarie. I also came 2nd in the Murray Man in 2018.
Recently I have competed in the 2022 Melbourne 70.3, Cairns Ironman and the 2022 70.3 World Championships in Utah.
Dr Jack Gaffey's Experience in Dentistry
Dr. Jack graduated in 2000 from Adelaide University with a dental degree and an honors research degree. He worked in Echuca, Victoria in 2001, and established a solo dental practice in Ulladulla NSW in 2002. During this time, Dr. Jack expanded his knowledge through a variety of courses that led him to the US to study dental lasers.
He sold his NSW practice and returned to Adelaide in 2005, entering into a partnership with Dr. Angela at Cumberland Dental.
Dr Gaffey started his orthodontic journey with Six Month Smiles at conference in Dallas Texas in 2011. He then helped sow the seeds for an advanced course in Boston Massachussetts in 2013.
Dr Gaffey has since completed Invisalign® training, POSOrtho, Advanced POS ortho Courses and multiple course with Australia’s leading orthodontic instructor, Dr Geoff Hall.
Dr Gaffey has lectured at TAFE SA and supervised training dental students at The University of Adelaide.
Volunteering
Dr Jack Gaffey has served the Australian Dental Association (South Australia) in various capacities.
Member of the Dental Practice Committee, member and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee, Vice President and President.
Graduating as one of the youngest from Adelaide University in 1994, Dr. Angela brings extensive experience from various dental institutions to her partnership at Cumberland Dental since 1999.
She is dedicated to continuous learning, with a focus on restoring implant programs and Porcelain Veneers training with experts like Dr. Michael Mandikos.
Known for her meticulous work and warm personality, Dr. Angela specialises in seamless and durable smile makeovers.
